Common problems and their fixes, grouped by symptom.

Flicker

Identity drift

Character changes appearance across a long shot (Mago Character)Pose strength too high or weak referenceLower Pose strength. Use a more distinctive reference.
Character changes across a chunked renderDynamic reference disabled or context size too largeEnable Dynamic reference. Reduce Context size to 100–120.
Closed-source character replacement driftsInherent to closed-source modelsSwitch to Mago Character for stricter identity. Use Elements (Kling 3.0 Motion Control) for multiple reference angles.

Mask issues

SymptomLikely causeFix
Mask too tight, visible seams in renderMask too conservativeIncrease Expand by 5–10 px. Increase Blur.
Pixel shift in unmasked regions of an inpaint resultCompression in video models, not a bugDownload the mask. Composite externally for pixel-perfect preservation.

Face issues (Mago Character)

SymptomFix
Eyes appear closedIncrease Face crop resolution to 768/1024. Increase Face crop padding.
Eyebrows or forehead clippedIncrease Face crop padding to 10–20.
Expression doesn’t match the sourceLower Face strength.
Face too stylized away from intended lookRaise Face strength.
Lighting doesn’t match the sceneEnable Relight. Increase the value if the correction is weak.

Render time issues

SymptomFix
Render taking many hoursContact support — this is usually an error. Refunds are available.
Render time estimate keeps growingKnown issue. Wait for completion or contact support.
Renders queuing in Credits mode despite available creditsLikely GPU saturation. Wait, or switch to Relaxed mode for non-urgent work.

Prompt issues

SymptomFix
Mago model not changing the scene muchVerify the prompt is descriptive, not instruction-based. Make the description more specific.
Closed-source model changing too muchAdd preservation directives: keep the character, composition, lighting, framing.
Nano Banana Pro confusing source and referenceAdd explicit phrasing: “use the first image as the reference”.
Output looks genericUse a stronger reference image. Be more specific in the prompt.
